Today is ANZAC Day when we remember the fallen.
The Ode of Remembrance
They went with songs to the battle, they were young.
Straight of limb, true of eyes, steady and aglow.
They were staunch to the end against odds uncounted,
They fell with their faces to the foe.
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them.
Lest We Forget
We're off to have a traditional ANZAC Day lunch with family, DFIL served in Vietnam. DH is marching in a nearby country town and will join us later this afternoon. I've cooked batches of ANZAC biscuits to take with us to share as always at the request of my DMIL :-).

it is a wonderful post, and it is so important to remember those who served.
